Roadway / Times of Greatness

Opportunity

Supported a three-year initiative celebrating Negro Baseball Leagues’ history, transforming a Roadway trailer into a mobile museum. The tour visited 13 MLB stadiums, raising public awareness while strengthening Roadway's customer relationships in key markets. Organized VIP events for top employees and clients, blending historical education with strategic business development.

Impact

Awarded the 2007 Diamond Award for Best Practices in Marketing

As the coordinator for the museum's exhibitions in San Francisco and Cincinnati, I oversaw both the logistical setup and VIP experiences. My responsibilities encompassed managing the museum installation upon arrival and curating the VIP suite at each ballpark.

This included preparing customized gift bags, arranging high-quality concessions, and even prepping our guests who were selected for the ceremonial first pitch.

Converted trailer

While the trailer looked standard on the outside (as it had to be driven from site to site), inside it opened up into a full interactive museum.

Multi-dimensional

The exhibit included jerseys, photographs, videos and various artifacts of incredible players.

VIP suites

As part of the VIP portion of the event, we arranged for full hospitality suites, first pitches and a fun bag full of swag to remember the day by.

You made it this far, so here’s a fun fact about this project.

Cincinnati Chili

At our stop at Great American Ball Park, I was informed that I couldn’t say I came to Cincinnati if I didn’t try the chili. I did it. All spaghetti and beans and cheese of it. I tried it - and I don’t feel like I need to eat it ever again.
